Alex Ripley, a native of Teeswater, Ontario, will be playing the organ during our worship service on December 10th. He has deep family ties to Kawartha Lakes; his mother, Jane McQuarrie, grew up at St. Andrew's, Lindsay, and grandparents, Jim and Marnie McQuarrie, were both elders at the church. Alex has been playing the organ for over fifteen years, having studied with the late Alan Reesor in Prince Edward Island and with various instructors in southwestern Ontario. He is currently the “Artist-out-of-Residence” at St. George’s Anglican Church in Goderich, Ontario; an occasional supply organist at Wingham United Church in Wingham, Ontario; and has more recently been serving as a supply organist at Knox Presbyterian Church in Toronto. This will be the sixth occasion Alex has played at St. Andrew's. When he is not playing the organ, Alex works as a trade advisor at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Toronto, where he lives with his fiancé, Becky, and two cats.

DAUGHTERS OF ST. ANDREW’S
OUTDOOR GAMES INDOORS
Games, food and fun were enjoyed by 26 ‘kids’ of all ages on November 4th!
Following Karen Horst’s presentation on October 27th, a number people indicated the desire for a follow up meeting. There have also been conversations about what an affirming and non-affirming church would look like and how it would differ from what our church looks like today. We would like to address this topic as well as respond to any other questions you may have.
You are invited to come and continue the talk on Wed. Nov. 22nd. A sign up sheet has been placed on a table outside the office. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. sharp.
Any additional questions that you would like addressed should be submitted in advance either by email (office@standrewslindsay.com) or placed in the box which is beside the sign up sheet outside the office.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday Nov. 19th.
REACHING OUT TO THOSE IN NEED
Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
While it seems counterintuitive, when God stirs our hearts to give and we are obedient to him, we experience satisfaction and become more conformed to the image of Christ, who gave himself for us.
Your Outreach and Missions ministry team is once again seeking your help as we prepare to distribute approximately 55 Christmas hampers to those who have reached out to us in their need. Included in that number are seven individuals who currently live on the street wherever they can find shelters. For those living on the street we will pack laundry bags with items that are nutritious but non perishable and do not require cooking or tools to open containers.
Hampers will be delivered by our team and laundry bags will be picked up at the church.
Our local organizations are overwhelmed with the requests for help. We work closely with all other community organizations to ensure there is no duplication and we are able to serve as many as possible.
We will continue to deliver hampers to A Place Called Home and Women’s Resources. These organizations remain open during the holiday period in order to provide a maximum level of support. We are living in difficult economic times and many of us even find it hard to meet all the day to day living costs.
If able, we are asking for your financial support to help us fill and deliver the requests we have received.
Hampers will be delivered the week of Dec.15.
Bless each one who finds it in their hearts and within their financial capabilities to support our hamper program this year.
